Abt Names Sunnie McClain Vice President of Digital Solutions

Rockville, Md. — Abt today announced that Sunnie McClain has joined the firm as vice president of digital solutions. She will lead enterprise solutions development, go-to-market strategy and strategic partnerships to strengthen how Abt brings digital capabilities to market and delivers for clients. 

McClain brings more than 25 years of executive experience across federal, health, and commercial sectors. She has led large portfolios, built enterprise data strategies, and guided complex modernization efforts in regulated environments. 

In this role, McClain will focus on three priorities. She will scale digital solutions to align technology with client needs, strengthen partnerships with leading technology firms, and support how offerings move from concept to delivery. She will work closely with client account teams to ensure new capabilities are grounded in client demand, disciplined execution, and sustainable adoption.

McClain held senior digital and technology leadership roles at MITRE, supporting enterprise modernization across federal health, defense, and national security missions. She guided major modernization efforts across federal programs, including enterprise data strategy, cloud migration, and applied artificial intelligence in mission systems. 

Earlier in her career, McClain held senior leadership roles at Dell Technologies. She led global portfolio strategy and directed major platform integration following the Dell-EMC merger. She oversaw international delivery operations, strengthening execution consistency and scaling enterprise capabilities across global commercial markets. 

Her appointment reflects Abt’s focus on helping clients respond to both increasing technical complexity and the accelerating pace of technological change, while keeping delivery grounded in real-world conditions. As agencies and organizations face tighter timelines and rising expectations, McClain will help teams connect emerging capabilities to measurable results.
