Rockville, MD – Abt Global has been selected as one of 10 finalists in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Crushing Fraud Chili Cook-Off, an innovation challenge that drew 250+ submissions from organizations across the country. The competition seeks new approaches that strengthen CMS’s ability to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) in Medicare and Medicaid.
The CMS competition recognizes teams that blend technology and policy expertise to deliver scalable solutions to detect and prevent FWA while safeguarding patient care and taxpayer dollars.
Abt’s solution builds on the company’s long-standing partnership with CMS, including decades of support across Medicare and Medicaid innovation, payment reform, and program integrity. By fusing advanced analytics, explainable AI/ML models, and human expertise, Abt aims to help CMS reduce the cost and complexity of fraud detection while ensuring transparent decision-making.
“Our approach leverages both data science and deep program understanding to proactively identify fraud indicators, reduce false positives, and accelerate detection timelines,” said ZeAmma Brathwaite, Abt’s VP for US Healthcare Services. “We’re honored to collaborate with CMS in advancing innovative, explainable AI that protects the integrity of care delivery for millions of Americans.”
The Crushing Fraud Chili Cook-Off finalists will present their solutions to CMS evaluators, who will select winners based on innovation, scalability, and impact potential.
