Federal Permitting Set for Billion-Dollar Boost in Climate Bill

In an article on the just-passed Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Abt’s Lisa McDonald pointed out some of the challenges that remain for this landmark—and necessary—climate legislation. “Will this help? Yes,” she told Bloomberg. “Does it solve all the problems? No.” Lisa explained that, while the influx of money to address climate change can make a real difference, current permitting rules and staffing limitations will slow the IRA’s implementation until those limitations are addressed.
