Expanding Our Impact

The Philippines is consistently rated among the most vulnerable to climate change. Abt supports the development and implementation of policies that accelerate climate-resilient growth, both economically and within communities. Through the USAID-funded B-LEADERS and AILEG projects, Abt focused on lowering greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, training local leaders in climate change analysis and providing technical assistance in the effort to institutionalize a GHG inventory process. Under USAID Clean Power Asia, Abt is supporting greater usage of distributed solar power through improvements to the country’s net-metering program and energy regulations.

Abt also supports gender equality efforts in the Philippines through the Investing in Women initiative, which aims to accelerate women’s economic empowerment, help investors consider gender in their investment process and close the financing gap for women. Efforts in the Philippines coupled with Abt’s work across Southeast Asia contribute to sustainable, inclusive economic growth.
