Peta Leonard is an experienced technology leader with more than 20 years of success guiding IT modernization programs. She has led all phases of delivery, from software development practices to project goals, costs, risks, resources, and schedules. She supports federal clients and brings experience across civilian technology programs. This includes specialized technical support for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Department of Justice, and the General Services Administration.
Leonard currently leads Abt’s civilian technology team, where she focuses on customer technology solutions and corporate growth efforts. She also serves as client account lead for USDA. In this role, Leonard oversees teams delivering modernization work across USDA programs. Her work helps align technical delivery, client needs, and program goals across civilian technology efforts.
Prior to her current role, Leonard served as a police commander and worked directly in the first responder community introducing predictive analytics as a tool for crime prevention. She supported the FBI, state, and local law enforcement officials with advanced crime prevention and predictive analytics techniques. Earlier in her career she was a federal employee at the Australian Department of Justice and Customs.
