Expanding Our Impact

Abt has worked in Kazakhstan for more than 25 years, focusing on improving the health and wellbeing of the Kazakhstani people. Recent efforts include the implementation of USAID’s Eliminating Tuberculosis in Central Asia project, which aims to reduce the burden of TB and DR-TB through increased efficiency and sustainability of quality, patient-centered TB services. Abt also has provided surge support and health system capacity-building for government-led COVID-19 responses through the Local Health Systems Strengthening project.

In addition, through the C5+1 project, we worked with international clients to strengthen climate resiliency in Kazakhstan, improve energy efficiency, and increase supplies of renewable energy. Abt provided technical assistance and research on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the negative effects of climate change for the Asian Development Bank. Our research estimated the cost of reducing GHG emissions in the energy and transportation sectors of Kazakhstan.
