Building Strong Communities

Namibia, one the most sparsely populated nations in Africa, has one of the highest HIV prevalence rates in the world: 12.1 percent. Abt Global is leading efforts to develop and improve high-impact and innovative HIV care models, ultimately improving HIV outcomes in Namibia. We also are partnering with the Namibian government and the private sector to financially sustain its multi-sectoral HIV and AIDS response.

The Abt-led Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Project in Namibia supports the Government of Namibia’s efforts to efficiently finance a health system that advances Universal Health Coverage (UHC). By strengthening Namibia’s health financing system, all Namibians, including people living with or experiencing HIV, pregnant women and children, and those living in poverty, can receive accessible, affordable, and high-quality essential health services.
